Building Permits & Inspections

To obtain a permit for both residential and commercial uses, simply download the forms below or see the town clerk for the necessary forms.

You must have a building permit for the following:

  • new homes
  • garages and barns
  • decks
  • room additions
  • electrical service upgrades
  • main plumbing service upgrades
  • HVAC replacements and new installations
  • major renovations
  • sidewalks
  • demolition

If in doubt whether you need a permit, please contact town hall or the Area Planning & Zoning Commission before you start any work!
